Universal Synaptics is a sub-contractor to Total Quality Systems (TQS) under the SBIR Phase III contract vehicle; Federal agencies may award non-SBIR/STTR-funded, sole-source follow-on grants or contracts for products or processes that meet the mission needs of those agencies, or for further R&D.
Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Sole Source Set-asides:
Universal Synaptics is a sub-contractor to Global Consulting International (GCI) an 8(a) small, disadvantaged business, certified through the Small Business Administration (SBA) program with a graduation date in 2016. The 8(a) program is SBA's effort to promote equal access for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to participate in the business sector of the nation's economy.
Any government client can utilize the 8(a) program to rapidly get a contract in place up to $3.5M with GCI and Universal Synaptics. The following steps are all that is required to easily initiate a new project:
1.) Discuss with GCI and Universal Synaptics personnel the nature of the work to be performed.
2.) Contact your local small business (SB) office to notify them you would like to initiate an 8(a) contract with GCI and Universal Synaptics. The SB office will then notify GCI regarding your intentions.
3.) Provide a brief statement of work to your local contracting officer regarding the type of work to be performed. The contracting officer will then send that document to GCI to write a proposal in response to the statement of work.
4.) GCI and Universal Synaptics will deliver a brief technical proposal and cost to the contracting officer who then places the work on contract.
5.) The entire process often takes a few days to a few weeks – much faster than existing IDIQ contract vehicles or other competitions.
