Universal Synaptics AutoWriter
AutoWriter: Generate
diagnostic test programs automatically
 |
AutoWriter
- Reduce TPS costs 100/1
- Runs on any ATE
- Rehost TPS in minutes
- Writes in any language
- Test Engineer not needed
- Easy to use
- Lots of organizing utilities
- Integrated Editor
- Open, Expandable System
- No Obsolescence
- No Expensive Upgrades
|
 |
Simple to Use
- Easy to follow Menus
- Probabilistic
ordering routines
deliver high quality programs
- Integrated utilities
make programming
simple
- In-depth user manual
|
 |
Step 1
- Describe how the
circuit nodes
are connected
- Verify model is
complete
- Reorder probe
sequences
- Reorder for external
compiler requirements
|
 |
Step 2
- Select TPS templates
or build your
own
- Templates contain the
test structure
- May be either "Full
Test"
or Diagnostic
- May be Line Numbered
or Label
style
- Generic in Nature
|
|
Step 3
- Generate the test
Program
- Paste in measurement
routines
- Integrate on ATE
- Measure outputs and
nodes or get
values by simulation
- Place node values
into external
table or database
- Make table accessable
to test program
- Finalize TPS

Details:
- Cut test programming
time as
much as 100/1
- Reusable templates cut
programming
overhead costs
- Rehosting to new ATE
in minutes
instead of weeks
- Working model of
circuit folded
into the program
- Dependency model used
to generate
test program
- Programs are
self-documenting
- Program maintenance
costs greatly
reduced
- Program in Atlas,
Detol, Basic,
C, any text based language
- Several utility
programs to
verify model and test integrity
- Simple to use by
technicians
or test programmers
- Keeps the test values
out of
the test program
- Test values can come
from simulators
or from actual circuit
- Test program model is
reusable
for numerous tests
- Highly flexible..Add
more tests
or diagnostics easily
- Totally open system,
no obsolesence
or expensive updates
Description:
Autowriter is a simple to
use
test program set (TPS) generation tool that enables technicians or
others
to generate high quality test programs quickly and economically.
Test Generation Steps:
1. Map out on the
schematic,
the nodes of interest that you want to model for testing and
back-probing.
2. Describe how each
circuit
node is connected using dependancy modeling: (The output of F6-1
is dependent on the inputs PC21 and PC03.)
- PA18 INPUT
- PC21 INPUT
- PC23 INPUT
- PC17 INPUT
- PB35 INPUT
- PD40 INPUT
- PC03 INPUT
- F6-1 INTERNAL PC21 PC03
- F10-12 INTERNAL PD40
- F6-12 INTERNAL F6-1
- L6-12 INTERNAL L4-12
PC23
- L4-12 INTERNAL L10-1
- A6-12 INTERNAL PA18
- L10-1 INTERNAL F7-12
L7-12
- F7-12 INTERNAL A6-12
F10-12
PC21
- L7-12 INTERNAL A6-12
F10-12
F6-12 L4-12 PC17 PB35
- PD10 OUTPUT L6-12
3. Use AutoWriter
utilities
to Check the model and diagnostic order.
4. Select or build the
diagnostic
and testing templates to use.
Typical reusable Output
template
written in Basic:
- PRINT"TESTING OUTPUT NODE ?1"
- LET X = ?2
- GOSUB 8200
- IF RESULT$="GOOD" THEN ?3
- GOSUB ?5
- GOSUB ?6
- GOSUB ?7
- GOSUB ?8
- GOSUB ?9
- GOSUB ?10
- GOSUB ?11
- GOSUB ?12
- GOSUB ?13
- GOSUB ?14
- GOSUB ?15
- GOSUB ?16
- PRINT"THE INPUT(S) TO ?1 ARE GOOD. CHECK ITA
AND ATE WIRES."
- GOTO 9000
- IF MODE$ = "TEST" THEN ?4
- The template is the
testing
and diagnostic "agent" for the node.
5. Setup the Test
Generation
parameters using AutoWriter menus.
6. Generate the test.
7. Add any required or
previously
written, reusable modules that actually perform the measurements such
as
would required when the program jumps from the template to another
program
target.
8. Go to the ATE and
perform
test integration.
Requirements:
